MCLE Board Postpones "Live Interactive" Requirement

From the VSB website: http://www.vsb.org/site/news/item/live-inter-rqt-postponed/

The Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Board has postponed until November 1, 2011, the implementation of amended regulations, including a requirement that four hours of annual MCLE be in the form of "live interactive" programming. The MCLE Board decided on July 21, 2010, that more time is needed so that lawyers and MCLE providers have an opportunity to clearly understand the regulations before they go into effect.

HIGHLIGHTED SEMINAR:

19th Annual Advanced Elder Law Seminar

Cosponsored with the Virginia Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (VAELA)

Practical Advice and Insight on Issues on the Minds and Desks of Experienced Elder Law Attorneys

This one-day seminar provides instruction on the topics experienced elder law attorneys are seeking. Learn the answers to these questions and more:

  • How do you get through the nightmare application to obtain benefits available for your clients through the Veterans Administration?
  • Uh oh ... you mean that distribution I made from the special needs trust will be taxed?
  • How can I get Social Services to allow a Medicaid waiver for my client's home care?
  • Just how far can I as a guardian ad litem try to resolve litigation issues in contested cases or assist with obtaining benefits for the incapacitated person?
Then to enhance your practice, hear the latest updates of the law in this area and a panel discussion on resolving ethical issues to keep you on the straight and narrow.

LIVE PROGRAM in Fairfax on Wednesday, September 15.

VIDEO REPLAYS in multiple locations on October 5 and 7.
