ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Lindsey Strachan Komisin, IslerDare, PC / Richmond
Lindsey Strachan Komisin is a partner at IslerDare PC’s Richmond, Virginia, office. Her practice focuses on representing employers in state and federal court and advising clients on a variety of labor and employment matters including those arising under Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and state wage and hour laws. She also has experience in complex litigation and class action litigation matters, including defending misclassification actions. She also works with her clients to provide preventive advice and counsel on employment law issues.
Prior to joining Isler Dare in 2019, Ms. Komisin practiced with Jackson Lewis in the Richmond, Virginia, office. She graduated from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2012 where she served as the Executive Editor for the Richmond Journal of Law and Technology, as a member of the Moot Court Board, and as a Teaching Assistant.
Amy E. Smith, IslerDare, PC / Richmond
Amy E. Smith is a partner at IslerDare, PC. Prior to joining the firm, she practiced both management and employee-side labor and employment law with firms in Savannah, Georgia, and Tampa, Florida.
Ms. Smith litigates cases and advises clients on a range of labor and employment matters including those arising under Title VII, the ADA, the Equal Pay Act, the Service Contract Act, FMLA, and FLSA, as well as state workplace laws such as common law torts. She also litigates and provides advice and counseling on non-compete, non-solicit, confidentiality, and trade secret matters. In addition, she drafts and reviews employee handbooks and policies, restrictive covenants, employment agreements, severance agreements, and settlement agreements. She also regularly advises clients on traditional labor relations matters, including collective bargaining negotiations, labor arbitrations, representation campaigns, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board.
Ms. Smith graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2010. After law school, she served as a law clerk to Georgia Superior Court Judge Tilman E. Self, III and the Honorable C. Ashley Royal of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia. She is admitted to practice in Georgia, Florida, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
