LEO: Criminal Conviction of a Notary Public LE Op. 377
Criminal Conviction of a Notary Public - Duty to Report.
July 15, 1980
While an attorney has a responsibility to both the public and judicial system to report to the appropriate authority criminal convictions on the part of a notary public, failure to do so would not constitute a breach of ethical duty on the part of an attorney, calling for disciplinary action. [See EC:8-6 and EC:9-6.]
