LEO: Portrait of Retired Judge LE Op. 433
Portrait of Retired Judge.
October 16, 1981
It is not improper to place a portrait of a retired judge in his former courtroom or in another location in the court's building where he and members of his firm regularly practice. Although no impropriety would result from such action, it might be more tasteful to use the alternate location rather than the courtroom. Lawyers in the firm in which the former judge practices should be alert not to trade upon the former status of their partner in violation of DR:9-101(C).
