In-house Counsel — Representation of Broker/Employer and Customer.
November 13, 1984
An attorney employed by a real estate broker as a full-time employee may ethically represent the interests of his employer when the employer buys and sells real estate in his own name. The attorney, however, may not represent other parties to the transaction, especially when the broker will be paid by the opposite parties for the legal work performed in their behalf by the attorney/employee.
