Build a practical, working foundation in the Law of Federal Employment (LOFE) so you can quickly identify the governing framework, the employee’s status and rights, and the most effective path to resolution when federal workplace issues arise. This program focuses on the structure of the federal civil service system, how employee classification and tenure drive due process and forum selection, and how to distinguish (and properly address) performance-based matters versus misconduct-based matters.
Designed for attorneys and legal professionals who advise federal agencies, federal employees, and stakeholders interacting with the federal personnel system, this session emphasizes real-world issue spotting, the roles of key decision-makers, and the procedural “big picture” that determines whether a matter belongs in a grievance process or should go before the Merit Systems Protection Board, through Equal Employment Opportunity channels, or elsewhere.
Topics will include:

MCLE Credit Caveat: The MCLE Board measures credits by the time you spend in attendance.
